The melody of the song is based on the Gaelic folk song "Bunessan, The lyrics are based on a poem written by English author Elinor Farjeon in 1931. In Japan, it is sung as Hymn No. 444, "In the Beginning of the World". Piano performance was provided by English keyboardist Rick Wakeman.
