| CD Description : A film capturing the performance at the third Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, a landmark British music festival of the 60s and 70s. Recorded by Murray Lerner, known for works like the Newport Folk Festival and Miles Electric, the footage was originally intended for release as a documentary film at the time. However, due to various circumstances, it remained unreleased until it was finally unearthed in 1995. The first half features all six songs, including “Young Man's Blues” and “Pincher Lover,” also included on the masterpiece live album Live at Leeds released around the same time (1970). The first half features all seven songs, including “Young Man's Blues” and “Pincherwinkle,” while the second half is a complete recreation of the rock opera Tommy. The entire 94 minutes (+ 40 minutes of interviews) guarantees you'll be riveted by the supreme rock groove created by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon playing as one. |
